Clan Pendragon Unit Ranks

Clan military structure is built on a quinary, or base-five, system of grouping. The base unit is the Star, made of five "Points". A Point is usually one 'Mech, but could also be five Elementals or Protomechs, 2 Combat Vehicles or Aerospace Fighters, or 25 standard infantry.

Clan military structure developed from the traditional Inner Sphere military structure, which is built on a quaternary (group of four) structure. The Inner Sphere equivalent of a Star is called a Lance.

KhanThe Khan is the head of the clan, his word is final in matters of policy or conflict resolution. The Khan is responsible for the management of the Clan as a whole, including all of its various Binaries. It is the Khan's mandate to provide administrative and adjudicary support to the Clan, to set Clan standards and conventions, and determine the Clan's strategy at the highest level.
saKhanThe saKhan is an assistant to the Khan, and manages Clan affairs at the inter-Binary level to ensure that Clan standards are being met across the board. The saKhan is responsible for managing the morale, discipline and overall performance of the Binaries in all of its Stars. The saKhan implements the policies of the Khan.
Galaxy CommanderThe Galaxy Commander works as part of the Keshik, developing tactics and strategy for the clan. The Galaxy Commander is also known as the TOUMAN COMMANDER, it is his job to see that the clans warriors are battle ready. He is responsible for coordinating with the Star Colonels of the Binaries and reports to the Keshik.
Nova ColonelThe Nova Colonel works as part of the Keshik, developing tactics and strategy for the clan. It is his job to see that the clans warriors are battle ready Along side the Galaxy Commander. He is responsible for coordinating with the Star Colonels of the Clusters and reports to the Galaxy Commander /Keshik.
Star ColonelAs Cluster Commanders, Star Colonels are the highest point in each Cluster. The Star Colonel position is an esteemed rank. Here is where leaders mold warriors into battle machines both mentally and with physical abilities A Star Colonel position is that of one who is respected by his warriors and looked upon with honor. A Star Colonel is the head of a Star, and is responsible for developing the skills of his subordinates, ensuring their awareness of scheduled events, attendance, and general discipline matters involving the warriors in his care.
Nova CaptainA Nova Captain (XO) is 2nd in Command of a Star, they work as Aid to the Star Colonel, filling in for the Star Colonels place if the need should arise. A Nova Captain be working to master leadership, both basic and advanced piloting and tactical skills. They have also shown a strong dedication to the unit. Jobs can include... - XO of a Star - Drop Commanding - Star Trials (ToE, ToP) - Battle plans, tactics and strategy for the Star. This rank is part of the Star Command Staff and reports to the Star Colonel.
Star CaptainExecutive Officers in a Cluster are Star Captains. In the absence of the Star Colonel, he is in charge of that particular Cluster. He must be carbon-copied in all correspondence from the Cluster members, to the Cluster Commander. This ensures that he has all of the information required, to make timely decisions when the Star Colonel is unavailable.
Star CommanderThe Star Commander serves as Aid to the Star Captain for the purpose of task delegation, assuming the Star Captains duties in his absence. Star Commanders are Star Captains in waiting and generally moral monitors for the 1st and 2nd mechwarriors. It is your responsibility to watch the moral of the warriors below himself and inform the Star Colonel of problems/ideas etc the 1st and 2nd MW's. A Star Commander is a mechwarrior who has shown that he is a competent pilot and is willing to learn what it takes to become an officer.
Mechwarrior 1st ClassA 1st MechWarrior reports directly to his Star Leader. He may have light Command duties assigned. 1st MechWarriors are Top of the Line fighting warriors of the clan. A 1st mechwarrior should have mastered the advanced skills such as jumping, missile boating, sniping, and concentrated targeting. Honor, Duty and Battle is all a 1st MechWarrior lives for. 1st MechWarrior is considered league ready and Drop command ready, being a Drop Commander is an honor not all warriors are able to handle. This pilot has great Leadership and communication skills.
Mechwarrior 2nd ClassA 2nd MechWarrior reports directly to his Star Leader(SL). He has no command duties, and is responsible only for the tasks assigned by his SL. 2nd MechWarriors have solid understanding of basic skills of being a mechwarrior. A 2nd MechWarrior is considered league ready. 2nd MechWarriors should be working to Master piloting, shooting, weapons and advanced mech configs. Team / Star movement and fighting.
Mechwarrior 3rd ClassA MechWarrior 3rd Class reports directly to his Star Leader(SL). He has no command duties, and is responsible only for the tasks assigned by his SL. 3rd MechWarriors have passed the Trial of Battle and are assigned to a Cluster, now considered a WidowMaker Warrior. A MechWarrior 3rd Class is eligible for higher rank and able to join in Clan events. MechWarrior 3rd Class are not eligible for league play however in special cases can serve as reserve for league drops pending approval of the SL and or Command Staff. MechWarrior 3rd Class should be working on learning to master the basic skills of being a mechwarrior, this includes piloting, shooting, understanding electronics, weapons, configs and mechs.
CadetHaving met the Training Commands requirements a Sibkin is promoted to Cadet. Cadets need to be active on TS, in game and on the forums. Cadets must pass the Training Command program to be eligible for the Trial of Battle (ToB) and transfer to a line Cluster. This pilot cannot enter league play and must have permission to be part of Clan events. This rank is not part of the Command Staff and reports to Training Command leader.
SibkoEntry level members who wish to join Clan Pendragon. Must meet Training and Activity requirements. This rank is not part of the Command Staff and reports to Training Command leader.
